A Story Is Where I Live

Have you had experiences where a story just flashes through your head - at all odd times of the day and the most unlikely of places?
Be it in colour or B&W?

Instances where you may have dreamt a story but wake up as if you've actually lived it?

Or where you are watching a show or reading a book or doing something else and something strikes?
Totally unrelated to what you are doing but you instinctively know that the thought, the idea is totally meaningful to you?

The stories maybe fantastic or simple, adventurous or mundane, happy or sad, fictional or a true-life experience.
The genre and style of writing are tools at your disposal.

Whatever you choose to write, what truly matters is that you need to be true to your story.
This will come through in your story-telling.

You need to experience your story!
"A Story Is Where I Live!"
If you plan to write and you must, then make sure that you live your story.
Every character, every element, every word in the story should be owned by you.

It should be an extension of what you are thinking, feeling, experiencing - the narration should come from deep within.

Only then will your readers fully connect with you!

You Are Your Own First Reader

Each day that you write, you will start improving your writing skills.

Do remember,
"You are your own first reader!"

Start writing on things which make you happy - the stories you wish to tell!

It is fine to write things and tear the paper into shreds (only figuratively 😊).
No word is ever wasted.

You will learn and improve with time, just like we do for
any other craft.

Very soon, you will find the right words to express your thoughts!

And the day you start feeling good about what you are writing, trust me,
you would have already entered the appropriate writing space.

So, pick up your pen (or any other device) and start to pen your words!

Tomorrow is another day! Let us not wait for it!!

'NOW' is the right time!

Write For Yourself

I started writing a couple of years ago but even before that, my mind used to constantly mull on hundreds of words.

There were so many untold stories waiting to unfold.

So, why didn't I put down these words on paper? It was primarily a lack of trust in my abilities as a writer.

Will people read my books? Can I tell this better? What should I write which will appeal to my readers?

As long as I tried to answer similar questions, I barely got anything written.

Resigning from a well-paying job is never an easy decision but I finally quit so I could focus on writing.

The first few months went by in a breeze but soon enough, my fingers itched while my mind prompted *WRITE*.

And then, there was a deluge of words - words which had been locked up for years in my thoughts flowed out like torrential rain.

I hope this writing streak will continue over the years.

How about you? Are you in the mood to write?

Don't wait - JUST WRITE, no matter what!

Most importantly,
WRITE FOR YOURSELF!
