The Dribble Quibble Series™

chronicles the fun escapades of mischievous
Noel Parker™

Noel Parker is an eight-year-child
who lives with his parents in
The Dribble Quibble Town™

The town is surrounded by
hills on three sides and
a flowing river on the fourth.

The entire town consists of quaint little cottages,

each dressed in a profusion of colours.

The small town is so called as it has frequent rain,
dribbling away gently on the sloping rooftops and
the town residents’ favourite pastime
is to quibble about trivial things.

A Story Is Where I Live

Have you had experiences where a story just flashes through your head - at all odd times of the day and the most unlikely of places?
Be it in colour or B&W?

Instances where you may have dreamt a story but wake up as if you've actually lived it?

Or where you are watching a show or reading a book or doing something else and something strikes?
Totally unrelated to what you are doing but you instinctively know that the thought, the idea is totally meaningful to you?

The stories maybe fantastic or simple, adventurous or mundane, happy or sad, fictional or a true-life experience.
The genre and style of writing are tools at your disposal.

Whatever you choose to write, what truly matters is that you need to be true to your story.
This will come through in your story-telling.

You need to experience your story!
"A Story Is Where I Live!"
If you plan to write and you must, then make sure that you live your story.
Every character, every element, every word in the story should be owned by you.

It should be an extension of what you are thinking, feeling, experiencing - the narration should come from deep within.

Only then will your readers fully connect with you!

Review: Dance Your Way Out: Coloring For Imaginative Kids

Dance Your Way Out: Coloring For Imaginative Kids
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is a beautiful art book for children by Megha Subramanian. The USP of "Dance Your Way Out: Coloring For Imaginative Kids" is that it is not only a reference book about the 8 Indian classical dance forms but also has the option to colour the pictures to one's imagination.

Celebrate Mother's Day

If you were to ask me who is the most optimistic person in the world, I would say a 'mother'.

A mother never gives up on her children - no matter how they turn out to be.
She has a secret hope which she will nourish all her life,
that her child(ren) will turn out to be the best there is in this world.

Did you take that moment recently to make your mother feel loved and recognized
for all that she has done for you?

So, what did you do?

Whether you shared a good read with your mother,
or wrote her a small thank you note for all that she has done for you,
or posted a sorry message when you messed things up
it is these little touches that truly matter.

Missed the day? Do it now!

And if your mother is not with you for some reason,
do stop by and say 'hello' to someone's else mother.
She will be equally happy!

Celebrate Mother's Day!
Not just once a year, but each day of the year!

You Are Your Own First Reader

Each day that you write, you will start improving your writing skills.

Do remember,
"You are your own first reader!"

Start writing on things which make you happy - the stories you wish to tell!

It is fine to write things and tear the paper into shreds (only figuratively 😊).
No word is ever wasted.

You will learn and improve with time, just like we do for
any other craft.

Very soon, you will find the right words to express your thoughts!

And the day you start feeling good about what you are writing, trust me,
you would have already entered the appropriate writing space.

So, pick up your pen (or any other device) and start to pen your words!

Tomorrow is another day! Let us not wait for it!!

'NOW' is the right time!
